Bassam Al Zoghby
Bassam Al-Zoghby was born on 18 May 1970. He became interested in ‎photography as an amateur during his studies at the Faculty of Law, Ain ‎Shams University. Immediately after graduation in 1993, he began to work as ‎a professional photographer. He joined Al-Gomhouriya newspaper to work as ‎a photojournalist (from 1995 to 1997), Akhbar Al-Youm newspaper (from ‎‎1997 to 2004) and finally Al-Ahram newspaper (from 2004 to present).‎

The artist began to participate in art exhibitions since 2001 in Egypt and ‎abroad, and has won numerous awards. His first solo exhibition was held in 2010 ‎at Saad Zaalol Cultural Center. In 2012 Al-Zoghby received the honorary ‎award of the International photographic salon of Japan (session 72). In 2013 his second solo exhibition Freedom was held at Al-Gezira Arts Center and his third solo exhibition Solo was held at Saad Zaghloul Cultural Center in 2016.

Bassam Al Zoghby works on the reformulation of the scene during the ‎photographing process using his own style, and seeks to get the image out of ‎the traditional concept of documenting the reality to abstraction, turning the bodies ‎into radiating energies intertwined with movement and color.‎
